TheLoop – Privacy Policy

1. General
1.1. This
Privacy Policy sets forth TheLoop.com’s (“TheLoop”) procedures and
policies with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of its users’
information. By accessing TheLoop and/or using its services, you hereby consent
to the collection, use, transfer, storage, manipulation, disclosure and other
uses of your information as further set forth in this Privacy Policy.
1.2. This
Privacy Policy covers TheLoop. It does not apply to other entities that TheLoop
does not own or control, such as applications or websites using TheLoop and/or any
of its services, including without limitation, transmissions, posts, uploads,
and chats (collectively, the “Services”).
1.3. TheLoop
reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without prior notice, to revise,
change and/or modify this Privacy Policy at any time and will display its most
current version at TheLoop.com. You hereby agree to periodically review the
Privacy Policy and to be updated of any modification or change. By continuing
to access and/or use TheLoop you hereby agree to the Privacy Policy which is in
effect at such time.
1.4. TheLoop
forbids users under the age of 13 to create an account and use TheLoop and/or any
of its Services. In the event that TheLoop becomes aware that a user under the
age of 13 has shared any information, it will delete all such information from
its database. If you have any reason to believe that a child under the age of 13
has shared any information with TheLoop, please contact us at privacy@TheLoop.com.
1.5. For minors
older than 13, we strongly advise that they ask their parents for permission
before posting information about themselves on TheLoop. We also recommend that
parents take time to explain to their children about what is safe or not on the
internet and inside a social network.
2. Information
provided to or shared in TheLoop
2.1. While
using TheLoop and/or any of its Services, you may provide us and/or the
developers of applications with certain information. Moreover, when using TheLoop
and/or its Services, you may share some of your content with TheLoop, its
developers and/or its users. You hereby agree and acknowledge that TheLoop may
use such information in order to administer its Services to you and tailor the
Services to its users and/or developers needs.
2.2. While
accessing and/or using TheLoop and/or any of its Services, TheLoop
automatically records some of the information which your browser sends (“Browser
Information”). Such Browser Information may include, without limitation,
your browser type, sites which you have previously visited, pages of TheLoop
which you have visited, IPs, information you have searched on TheLoop, other
activity you did in TheLoop and other details. You hereby agree and acknowledge
that TheLoop may use such Browser Information in order to assist, supervise, monitor
and analyze your use and/or to provide Services to other users.
2.3. In
order to avoid any identity theft (also known as phishing) TheLoop does not and
will not ask you for your credit card information, login password, account ID,
or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited email or
telephone conversation.
3. Cookies
Information
TheLoop may
use cookies (data stored on your computer’s hard-disk for an extended period of
time for record keeping purposes) in order to make TheLoop and/or its Services
easier for you to use. We may also use cookies in order to enable certain
features of TheLoop, save your login information, monitor web traffic routing
and usage of TheLoop and/or its Services and to improve your interaction with TheLoop.
You may remove or block cookies through your browser settings; however this may
impact your ability to use TheLoop.
4. Sharing
Information and Disclosure
4.1. TheLoop’s
users can interact with and use Social Networking Services (SNS). Should you
use an SNS via the Services, you hereby agree and understand that TheLoop may
access and store your account information.
4.2. You
agree and understand that TheLoop may disclose and share your non-identifying
information, including Browser Information, with third parties in order to deliver
Services to you and for industry analysis and demographic profiling. In
addition, TheLoop may also provide your information to its service providers
for the sole purpose of allowing them to facilitate TheLoop’s Services or to
assist TheLoop in analyzing its Services.
4.3. TheLoop offers developers the option to create and distribute
applications. When you connect with an application it will have access to some
of your basic information. TheLoop may also share other information with
the application for security and compliance purposes, including without
limitation, the location of your computer or access device and your age. If the
application or website wants to access any other data, it will have to ask for
your permission. Each application has its own privacy policy, we strongly
recommends you review such privacy policies and do not guarantee that the
applications will follow TheLoop’s rules. In the event you find an application violates the TheLoop’s rules, please report
such application and violation at compliance@TheLoop.com.
4.4. TheLoop may freely assign, share, disclose or transfer
any of your information, including your Browser Information, in connection with
an acquisition, merger, sale of its assets, or by operation of law, or
otherwise.
5. Deleting or
Removing Information
5.1. You
may delete or change your account information at any time by editing your
account information. But even after you remove information from your profile or
delete your account, parts of that information may remain viewable to the
extent it has been shared with others.
5.2. TheLoop
will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request; however, you
understand that TheLoop may retain archived copies of your information.
6. Law
Enforcement
6.1. TheLoop reserves the right to disclose any content and/or
information it reasonably believes is necessary (i) to satisfy and enforce any
applicable law, legal process or governmental request, (ii) detect or prevent
any security and technical matters, including protecting the rights, property
and security of TheLoop and any of its users, and (iii) respond and attend to
any support users’ request.
6.2. Our option menu allows you to set privacy options that limit
access to your information. But unfortunately there are no security measures there
are totally safe on the internet. You must also remember that you are sharing
information with others. We cannot be held responsible of the actions of other
users or third parties. We encourage you to follow the basic internet security
practice by choosing a strong password, by using different passwords with your
different accounts on the internet and by having a good and up to date
antivirus software.
6.3. If you
come across any security violations you should report it to us by emailing us
